eDRAULIC convinces in Heavy Rescue

Media block

HEAVY RESCUE SWEDEN, an independent training centre, trains rescuers from all over the world in vehicle extrication, with focus on the special challenges of buses, trucks and other heavy vehicles.

Several Norwegian fire brigades sent teams to a three-day bus and truck training session, where they had their first contact with eDRAULIC tools. After some basic instructions about heavy-vehicle construction and methods of stabilising and lifting, it was time to implement theory into practice.

Heavy-vehicle training session

A SCANIA truck with front-end accident damage provided realistic training conditions. The rescuers used eDRAULIC tools to gain access to the cab. Preparation- cuts were made with the compact S 311 E cutter. The side bodywork was removed with the SP 300 E spreader and the powerful R 411 E rescue ram was used to increase the size of the rescue opening in the cab. On the rescue platform, the training participants were able to work especially quickly without being bound to hydraulic hoses.

Rescuer opinions

All nine participants had plenty of chances to test the eDRAULIC tools and all were completely satisfied. After everybody took turns with each tool, all were impressed by how amazingly long they can operate at full power on batteries. All of them were enthusiastic about the liberty of movement allowed by hoseless rescue tools.
